Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze has conducted an introductory meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Georgia Fatma Ceren Yazgan.
At the meeting, they mainly focused on the issues as follows: Georgia-Turkey bilateral cooperation in the defense field, the inviolability of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, Turkey's unwavering support of Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, and the security of the Black sea region.
The Georgian defense minister laid emphasis on Turkey's contribution to the development of Georgia's defense forces and thanked the ambassador for the support with which Turkey has provided Georgia.
The parties also made reference to the transformation process of Georgia's defense forces, the initiatives envisaged in the Refreshed Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP), and the need for exchanging experience on military education and exercises.
Turkish defense attache and vice-col Burak Altiner also attended the meeting.
