Georgian ex-pres. Giorgi Margvelashvili says 'chief problem is Putin, not Mr. Saakashvili'

Fourth President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili has elaborated upon his recent meeting with acting President Salome Zurabishvili, saying that at the meeting, they discussed Zurabishvili's initiative which he approves.

''The key topic of discussion was the political and social processes which Mrs. Salome Zurabishvili have launched. The chief problem, in my view, is not Mr. Saakashvili. It is Putin. He poses immensely serious risks to countries such as Georgia and Ukraine. Hopefully, I will meet President Saakashvili. First and foremost, he is the leader of the largest opposition party in the country and, naturally, talks on unity, without the National Movement, is nothing less than a farce. I think that without these preconditions, the three presidents must start discussing the issues,'' Giorgi Margvelashvili declared.

Giorgi Margvelashvili, the fourth president of Georgia, has already submitted requests to the corresponding bodies, asking them for the permit to visit ex-pres. Mikheil Saakashvili to discuss the issue of reconciliation initiated by president Zurabishvili.

Saakashvili said he stands ready to meet Margvelashvili, calling for the government not to anyhow hamper the pending meeting.
