Georgian ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili said that he is against postponing the upcoming local self-government elections.
In Saakashvili's words, the process must be sped up, with elections called as soon as possible and victory gained.
''I am fully involved in this process and, I, Mikheil Saakashvili, am dead set against postponing elections and the referendum,'' He said in his social media post.
The ombudsman said earlier that elections worsen the epidemiological situation, with the country having already passed through this ordeal last year.
Local self-government elections are to be held on Oct 2.
