Within her working visit to Azerbaijan, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava has met with Rashad Nabiyev, the Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze and Guram Guramishvili, as well as Georgia Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zurab Pataridze, were also involved in the meeting.
The high officials discussed transport-related bilateral relations and made special emphasis on the fields in which the two countries enjoy particularly successful cooperation.
They focused on the TRACECA international transport program, GUAM, the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (ITR), Middle Corridor, International Transport Corridor, the Persian Bay, and others. Special emphasis was placed on the transport-related cooperation within the EU Eastern Partnership project aiming at increased turnovers between Europe and Asia with the help of the infrastructure of Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Special reference was made to the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
The ministers also discussed cooperation in various other fields such as communications, information technology, and others.
