At the meeting, they underscored the existing strategic partnership and amicable relationships between the two countries, as well as the Georgian Prime Minister's official visit to Azerbaijan, which the parties defined as productive. The top officials also focused their attention on the issue of delimitation of the Georgian-Azerbaijani border. They emphasized that the delimitation process must take place in view of state interests and good-neighborly relations between the two countries. Additionally, the importance of making joint efforts to increase the effectiveness and competitiveness of the transport corridor and exhaust the two countries' transit potential was also highlighted.

In this context, the high officials positively evaluated the completion of the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP).

A particular focus was also made on the hard humanitarian situation in the breakaway regions of Georgia. The Georgian PM elaborated upon the illegal detention of doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili and stressed the significance of the neighbor countries' support for his timely liberation. PM Gakharia expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Azerbaijan for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has visited Tbilisi to participate in the 8th meeting of Turkish and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers held within the framework of trilateral format among the countries.
