Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has responded to the recent flash floods in Afghanistan and offered condolences to the people of Afghanistan.
“The #AfghanistanFloods are a real tragedy, hitting the Afghan people as they are already struggling with a global pandemic. I send my deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Georgia stands with the people of Afghanistan in this difficult time,” Zurabishvili tweeted.
Heavy rainfall in recent days has triggered flash floods in a number of areas in Afghanistan killing 150 people, injuring more than 250 and destroying around 1,500 houses.
