According to the Administration of the President of Georgia, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili discussed aspirations and challenges Georgia and Ukraine share with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

At the meeting, the parties focused on the issue of further cooperation in politics, economy, and trade.

They stressed that common challenges bond Georgia and Ukraine, which, among others, include de-occupation and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

The Georgian president said that she is glad Georgia-Ukraine relations are back on track.

The high officials made a reference to the significance of the statement released at the 14 June summit, which made it clear that NATO supports Georgia and recognizes the importance of the already passed reforms.

Salome Zurabishvili stressed that Charles Michel's involvement in resolving Georgia's political deadlock has once again proved that close partnerships with Georgia are in the EU's interests.

The issue of Georgia's breakaway regions was also discussed at the meeting, with the importance of the EU Monitoring Mission stressed.

The top officials elaborated on a number of issues, including trade relations, tourism, cinema production, technical innovation-related cooperation, and others.
