"We plan to apply for official European Union membership in 2024," Georgian PM Irakli Gharibashvili told Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, at the joint press conference.
"Our people's common choice and task is to join the large family of the EU and become its viable member. We plan to apply for official European Union membership in 2024. We do understand the path will not be easy to follow; on the contrary, it will be a difficult and challenging process to bring to the end. However, we are more than motivated to put our plan into practice through joint efforts," the PM declared.
