Gia Volski: Parties are obliged to sit down and negotiate

"The majority has no right to refuse to the negotiation process," Gia Volski, the First Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia, said on the proposal of the majority to meet all opposition parties individually regarding the electoral system.

According to Volski, some people may agree to talk.

"Political life is not locked in its format, the society is the main one that supports certain parties, and that is why the parties are obliged to sit down and negotiate. Of course, there are irresponsible political forces, but I am not talking about them," Gia Volski said.

EU Ambassador Carl Hartzell calls on the Georgian authorities and the opposition to engage in dialogue on the electoral system. The diplomat told reporters that they are running out of time.

The dialogue regarding the electoral system interrupted after the arrest of Gigi Ugulava, one of the leaders of the opposition.
