The meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council has been conducted in Vienna, with it attended by the OSCE leadership and ambassadors of 57 counties.
President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Gigi Tsereteli made a speech at the meeting, focusing on the current security challenges in the OSCE region and the importance of national parliaments for coping with these challenges.
"I hail recently launched top-level negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Swapping hostages, rebuilding bridges, opening border checkpoints spark our hope for a better future. Unfortunately, similar changes are not being witnessed in Georgia, with the shifting border and humanitarian crisis still being issues here. This constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and the OSCE norms. People in the breakaway regions of Georgia are still in unbearable conditions. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the International Community and the OSCE member states for their contribution to releasing doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili from illegal custody," Gigi Tsereteli declared.
