The state of emergency and the curfew will not continue in Georgia. The Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, stated about the decision at the government session.

According to him, it is necessary to maintain some restrictions despite the end of the state of emergency. The Parliament of Georgia is already working on the adoption of the relevant law.

"Our main task is to slowly and rationally return the country to its normal pace of life. Unfortunately, today no one can say what the world will be like after COVID-19, which increases our responsibility towards citizens. We must return to normal life both in the economic direction and in social," the Prime Minister said.

The state of emergency in Georgia expires tomorrow, May 22.

The curfew has been in force since March 31, and a state of emergency got declared on March 21.
