Giorgi Kandelaki, a member of European Georgia, responded to a letter sent to Pompeo by congressmen, saying his party had repeatedly warned the government that Russia's growing influence in the country would worsen relations with the United States. According to him, the letter creates a problematic circumstance for Georgia and will lead to the deterioration of relations with the main strategic partner.
"I'm sure the Georgian Dream members will still surprise us today with nonsense, legends, and tales about how to justify this letter and the grim picture for Georgia," Kandelaki said.
A critical letter from US Congress members got sent by six politicians to US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. The document talks about the oligarchic ruling in Georgia. At the same time, it is noted that Bidzina Ivanishvili is trying to expel American business from Georgia, which is done to increase investment in the private sector from Russia, China, and Iran.
Six politicians, Jodey Arrington, Bill Flores, Will Hurd, Brian Babin, Randy Weber, anddMarkwayne Mullin, signed the document.
