The government of Georgia brought Georgian citizens located on the closed border between Iran and Azerbaijan back.

"Georgian citizens, who were detained on the territory of Iran due to the prevention of coronavirus infection following the protocol recommended by the Ministry of Health, returned to Georgia by an appropriate transport," Alexandre Khvtisiashvili, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia stated.

According to the Ministry, the Emergency Situations Coordination, and Urgent Assistance Center personnel met the Georgian citizens at the border. They underwent appropriate inspection and were transported to a quarantine facility with specially allocated transport.
