Georgia marked the 18th anniversary of the death of the national leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev. The bust of Heydar Aliyev was decorated with flowers by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev, the former Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Hasan Hasanov, the staff of the Embassy, the representatives of SOCAR, the Chairman of the Union of Azerbaijani Businessmen in Georgia. The monument of the national leader was decorated with flowers in Rustavi as well.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition "Heydar Aliyev's Legacy and Relations with Georgia" was held at the Zurab Tsereteli Museum of Modern Art in Tbilisi.

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev, the former Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Hasan Hasanov, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Vladimir Konstantinid, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Archil Talakvadze, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Georgia Fatma Seren Yazgan, Mahir Mammadov, General-Director of SOCAR Energy Georgia, well-known Georgian public members and political figures, as well as members of the Azerbaijani community.

According to the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Archil Talakvadze, "Heydar Aliyev has made a great contribution to establishing and developing the Georgian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership."

"It's a merit of Heydar Aliyev that there are special friendly relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan," Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Konstantinid told reporters.

The exhibition will be open to visitors for two days.
