Georgia has been elected to the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for four years. Minister of Economy Natia Turnava defined the decision as historical as Georgia has never been a council member before.
''We will have a four-year membership, which means that we will be enabled to make a positive impact on global tourism development and its post-COVID restoration in the first place. This will prove paramount for Georgia,'' Turnava stressed.
The organization is comprised of around 200 countries, with 35 being executive council members.
