Honorary Consulate of Georgia opens in Brazil

The Honorary Consulate of Georgia has been opened in the city of Goiânia, Brazil. Davit Solomonia, the Georgian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador, presided over the opening ceremony. Honorary Consul to Georgia Marcelo Lelis Sertao will head the Georgian Embassy.

The new Embassy will aim to promote Georgia in Brazil, demonstrate its versatile culture, safeguard the rights and interests of Georgian citizens and legal persons, develop commercial, economic, and cultural cooperation, encourage tourism, and strengthen ties among people.

With its economic potential, Goiás is one of the leading states in the Republic of Brazil. Business is flourishing in the region, and contacts are actively being built with different companies outside the country's borders, with this resulting in an increasing interest in cooperation with Georgia's business sector.
