Director-General of the Lelo for Georgia party Badri Japaridze said that the flagrant act of pushing the Main Channel cameraman from the second floor of the Georgian Dream office shows that the ruling party is flaunting its power before the elections.
''Violence against the cameraman was encouraged as perpetrators of the 5 July offense enjoyed impunity.
Thanks to its attitude, the government encourages offenders. The Georgian Dream is against critical media.
Lelo demands that perpetrators of this crime be strictly punished. As for the Georgian Dream, the Georgian public will render the appropriate verdict against them on 2 October,'' Japaridze stated.
Mtavari Arkhi (Main Channel) cameraman Leva Ablotia has reportedly been pushed off the second floor of the Georgian Dream office in Georgia's Kareli municipality.
