The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, will deliver a speech at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly. The head of government will visit New York on September 20-25.

According to the Prime Minister's press service, on September 21, the general debate of the 76th session of the UN will officially open. The event will be attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia together with world leaders.

During his visit to the United States, high-level bilateral meetings of the Prime Minister of Georgia are planned.

The Prime Minister will address the participants of the general debate on September 24. In his speech, Irakli Gharibashvili will focus on the challenges facing Georgia and the international community and the importance of joint efforts in solving them.

The Georgian delegation, led by the Prime Minister, includes Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Zalkaliani, Minister of Education and Science Mikheil Chkhenkeli, and Head of the Government Administration Ilia Darchiashvili.

The main topic of the general debate at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly is "Increasing the resilience of countries through the hope that the people will recover from the new coronavirus, sustainable economic recovery, responding to the needs of the planet, respecting human rights and reviving the essence of the United Nations."
