"Given the developments in the region and the new reality, effective cooperation with neighboring countries is the only way to ensure the security, stability, and sustainable development of the country," Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili stated at the meeting with the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey Abdulhamit Gül, which was held at the Government Administration.

Irakli Gharibashvili thanked Abdulhamit Gül for Turkey's support of Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and Euro-Atlantic integration. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the readiness of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey further to strengthen the strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey, noting that deepening political and economic cooperation between the two countries is a priority.

At the meeting, the sides reaffirmed the readiness of the Government of Georgia to strengthen cooperation with the Republic of Turkey in the field of justice, the rule of law, and human rights. According to the Prime Minister, the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the relevant agencies of the two countries in this direction is a positive move. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Justice Rati Bregadze, the Deputy Minister of Justice of Turkey, the Chairman of the Georgian-Turkish Friendship Group of the Turkish Parliament Halil Etyemez, and the Ambassador of Turkey to Georgia Fatma Seren Yazgan.
