Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili has met with the Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli. 

The Georgian prime minister once again mentioned his visit to Turkey and thanked the Turkish leader for a warm meeting. He stressed that similar visits are clear testimonies to the existence of the best possible cooperation between the two countries. 

At the meeting, they focused on their cooperation in the field of agriculture. They also discussed export and import data and noted that Georgia exported $27.3 mln agricultural products to Turkey, which exceeds the volume of products exported to Turkey in 2019 by 91%.  

As for imports, a total of $114.8 mln products were exported from Turkey to Georgia, with exports having experienced a downward trend lately. Agricultural product imports in 2020 from Turkey to Georgia have dropped by 4% if compared to those of 2019 and by 14% if compared to those of 2018. 

The top officials also discussed the assistance with which Turkey provided Georgia in the field of agriculture. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to TIKA of Turkey which has provided Georgia with support for years.
