Irakli Gharibashvili, the Defense Minister of Georgian and Andriy Zahorodniuk, the Defense Minister of Ukraine, discussed bilateral defense cooperation issues and plans of two countries.
According to the Defense Ministry, the bilateral meeting took place in Brussels within the framework of the NATO Defense Ministerial.
Irakli Gharibashvili thanked his Ukrainian counterpart for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, while Defense ministers discussed security challenges in the region.
The two politicians discussed the creation of a strategic partnership format between Ukraine and Georgia and considered strategic directions of defense cooperation. The focus was on sharing experience on NATO integration and developing practical mechanisms. Discussions also focused on the joint participation of the military personnel in multinational military training.
