Irakli Gharibashvili: We have agreed to keep dialogue going

The meeting between the government and the opposition has ended, with the first statements already been made.

PM Gharibashvili said that the meeting initiated by Charles Michel was conducted in 'a constructive atmosphere' with its outcome being the agreement between the ruling party and the opposition to continue the dialogue.

"We, naturally, have different positions on some issues, and we have our substantiated opinions to support them. We have also listened to their questions and provided them with the corresponding answers.

We have agreed to keep the dialogue going. I will undergo consultations with the representatives of the parties, and we will determine our next steps.

The President of the European Council has called for a consensus which will help us pursue our country's and people's interests," Gharibashvili said, adding that the ruling party and the opposition must find a way out and start 'speaking the same language.'

Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, appealed to the opposing parties to hold a dialogue today.
