"We reaffirm our readiness to continue the constructive dialogue and reach an agreement as soon as possible; We will be the result-oriented party that will make certain decisions," Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili stated about it during the meeting with the Personal Representative of the President of the European Council Charles Michel, Christian Danielsson.
The head of government noted that the ruling team appreciates the EU mediation, focused on de-escalating the situation and conducting the political process normally.
According to the prime minister's press service, Irakli Gharibashvili and Christian Danielsson discussed issues where the ruling team and the opposition have different positions.
The importance of the rule of law and respect for democratic institutions was emphasized, as well as the assessment of international organizations, including the OSCE/ODIHR, that parliamentary elections were free and fair.
It was stressed at the meeting that it is important for all parties to be guided by the interests of the Georgian people and the country and take steps towards a compromise decision, which will aim to move the political process to the Parliament.
The Prime Minister once again thanked Christian Danielsson and President Charles Michel for mediating the political dialogue, noting that this reaffirms the EU's strong interest in Georgia, which places great responsibility on all actors in the process.
