Irakli Gharibashvili: Yesterday we saw a classic example of misinformation and harm

"A classic example of disinformation and activities against the state," Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili assessed the spread of information as if the European Union is considering the abolition of a visa-free regime for Georgia.

According to the head of government, one of the government's main achievements and tangible progress is the visa-free regime.

"Our citizens are moving freely in the direction of Europe today. Before that, during the previous government, it was unimaginable, and probably no one could have dreamed about it. We achieved this, and yesterday we saw another classic misinformation as if something was threatening the visa-free regime. This is, unfortunately, the signature of our opposition, their face. Of course, this is a lie; it was confirmed yesterday, including by European leaders, that no such thing is planned and it will not happen," Irakli Gharibashvili noted.

According to EUobserver, the EU is considering the restriction of visa-free travel for citizens of the Western Balkan countries, Georgia, Ukraine, and Moldova.

The President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, said that he did not confirm the fact and called it false news.

The information was also denied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
