Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze says that at the meeting with ex-PM Giorgi Gakharia, they have not discussed the issues of Gakharia's readiness to withdraw his candidature in return for the financial support, but in his words, Irakli Kobakhidze does not lie when he makes statements on this issue.
In Kaladze's words, Giorgi Gakharia could have informed him of his decision to run for mayor via the phone instead of meeting him.
Ex-PM Gakharia's decision to run for mayor was publicized on 1 September.
The same day, Georgian Dream chairperson Irakli Kobakhidze said that Gakharia hinted he was ready to withdraw his candidature if the Georgian Dream party provided him with financial support.
