"They [the opposition] set an ultimatum on two issues. It was Rurua's release, and it was a matter of early elections, a plebiscite. After the last time the opposition expressed their views and issued these two ultimatums, Danielsson declared that the continuation of the talks no longer made sense," the leader of the parliamentary majority Irakli Kobakhidze stated.

He spoke about the details he voiced during a meeting with Charles Michel's representative. According to Kobakhidze, part of the opposition opposed the agreement due to the refusal to release Giorgi Rurua.

"When the first ultimatum was issued regarding Rurua's topic, Archil Talakvadze returned the question if the issue would be resolved theoretically, and would they sign an agreement, in this case, which was also rejected. It was a method to show the character of the opposition in front of international partners, and, naturally, everyone saw it," Kobakhidze said in an interview with Imedi.

According to him, the opposition has no grounds for not entering the Parliament.

Meetings of the ruling party and opposition leaders with Christian Danielsson lasted for several days.
