Georgian ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili has issued another letter from Rustavi No12 penitentiary facility.

Poti mayoral candidate Gigi Ugulava has read Saakashvili's letter to residents of Poti.

''Dear Poti residents,

If you remember, Poti was the location from where we returned Ajara and made Batumi a great city afterward. Unfortunately, after losing much time, we must make Poti a great city. Young people and women cannot be abandoning the city; they must be returning instead.

Gigi has such vast experience that he is truly a gold chance for Poti and me to help you.

We must follow through with building the airport first, add a minimum of three thousand jobs in the port and double salaries,'' the ex-president's letter reads.

Mikheil Saakashvili was detained on 1 October.

He declared a hunger strike 25 days ago.
