NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Mr. James Appathurai, has responded to Georgian PM Irakli Gharibashvili's meeting with Jesns Stoltenber, NATO Sec-Gen.
"Timely visit today by Georgian Prime Minister Garibashvili, with FM Zalkaliani, to meet the Secretary General and the NAC. Open and constructive discussions on a range of issues. As always, NATO support Georgia. My main takeaway: given its regional situation, the Covid crisis, and the pressing need for continued reform and enhanced resilience, Georgia doesn’t have the time for a prolonged political crisis. As soon as possible, the political polarisation must diminish, opposition parties should return to parliament so it can function properly, and all parties should agree together a common way forward for the political process. We support the EU and US mediation efforts, led by two excellent diplomats," James Appathurai wrote on his official Facebook page.
