According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, the two countries' relevant agencies and commissions are working on the delimitation of the Georgian-Azerbaijani border.
Bayramov noted that the relevant commission would decide on border delimitation issues.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan feels that appropriate conditions should be created for specialists to work in a free environment while discussing issues named above.
"I want to provide you with additional information and reveal our position. The relevant agencies and commissions of the two countries are working on delimitation issues between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. They have held several meetings since 2019. Another meeting was supposed to occur in March 2020, but it was impossible to do so due to the pandemic.
We hope that commission will resolve the border delimitation issues. Activities, studies, and discussions are underway, and it is better for us to leave it to specialists and professionals. I would also like to mention one issue. We believe that appropriate conditions should be created for specialists to work in a free environment during the discussion of issues like this. Speculations or political assessments hinder the work process.
After a while, we will see that these issues were used by those who want to harm Azerbaijan-Georgia relations, so my advice to the citizens and the civil society of both countries is to be more careful.
It is a very important and delicate issue, and we need to be cautious in our statements not to damage our relationship. There are no issues between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan that can not be discussed and resolved. I am sure this issue will be resolved in the nearest future," the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan said.
