Kakha Kaladze meets PM of Azerbaijan

Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze and Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov spoke about Georgia-Azerbaijan's friendly and good-neighborly relations, strategic partnership issues, and development prospects at a meeting in Baku.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the signing of a brotherhood memorandum between Tbilisi and Baku, which, in their view, is a good opportunity to develop cooperation in various fields.

"It is nice to be in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, today. Due to my previous position when I was the Minister of Energy, I had frequent communication with Azerbaijan, we implemented many important international projects with joint efforts, and we must continue this cooperation in the future. A very important document between Tbilisi and Baku was signed yesterday. There are friendly relations between our countries, but I think there are additional resources to deepen these relations, bring our people closer to each other, and hold various cultural events, both in Tbilisi and Baku," Kakha Kaladze mentioned at the meeting.

The Prime Minister of Azerbaijan stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

"Azerbaijan and Georgia are strategic partners. In this sense, the brotherhood of the capitals of the two states will make a significant contribution to the development of our relations. Georgia and Azerbaijan are implementing large projects in the region, which will bring great benefits to the region, as well as ensure Europe's energy security. Today, the relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan are at a high level in all spheres, and we, in our turn, will contribute to the development of these relations. I want to take this opportunity to extend my sincere greetings to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili," said the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan.

During his official visit to Baku, Kakha Kaladze, together with members of the delegation, laid a wreath at the tomb of the National Leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, and the Eternal Fire Memorial in the Martyrs' Alley.
