"The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia will be one of the main speakers of the Conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments of the member states of the Council of Europe," the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe told the media today after the meeting with Kakha Kuchava.
According to him, the conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments of the member states of the Council of Europe will be held in September.
"We will have a conference of speakers, the speakers of the parliament will gather together, your speaker has assured us that he will attend the conference and will be one of the keynote speakers," said Rik Daems.
One of the main topics of the meeting between Rik Daems and Kakha Kuchava was the 2021 local self-government elections. Kakha Kuchava invited the Council of Europe observer mission to the mentioned elections.
The Speaker also thanked the President for the work done by the Election Observation Mission in the 2020 Parliamentary Elections and noted that the recommendations made by them are reflected in the Election Code.
Rik Daems will leave the country on July 28th. He has already met with the parliamentary majority and the opposition.
