"No one should expect that in one day, everyone will be able to visit Saakashvili. It's impossible. We are talking about a penitentiary institution and not a hotel where they can talk in the living room," the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Kakha Kuchava, said during the discussion of visits.
Kakha Kuchava responded to the request of the opposition MPs, who asked the Speaker of the Parliament for permission to enter the prison.
According to Kuchava, everyone should analyze that entering a penitentiary institution has its own procedures. Fifteen deputies demanded to visit Saakashvili yesterday, which is impossible.
"I will decide how many people will visit him, based on the security measures and the rules of the penitentiary institution that exist. I am not going to say no, but the number of visitors per day will be controlled.
The fact is that there are no restrictions. As you can see, a lawyer can visit him any time, and if I am not mistaken, so can the family members. Everyone will issue the request, they will be redistributed, and they will be given the opportunity to visit a member of their team," Kuchava said.
