“Elections in 2020 will be held by a mixed electoral system, just like the past three decades. Less than a year is left before the Elections. We are not going to discuss any new initiatives regarding the electoral system”, Kakha Kaladze, the party's General Secretary, announced at a briefing at the Georgian Dream office.
"Yesterday, everyone saw clearly that the National Movement, with its branches, was the true organizer of the protest. The known reason for this rally is the demand for a proportional electoral system, but the real goal is the destruction of the political process.
The elections will be held as guided by the current constitution, within the prescribed timeline, the highest democratic standards and with the involvement of the international community. We urge our opponents to prepare for the elections and not blame the electoral systems if they are not supported by the people”, Kakha Kaladze stated.
