Kandelaki: It means fewer people will come to Georgia

European Georgia Party leader, Giorgi Kandelaki, calls on the government of Georgia to lift the discriminative quarantine for the citizens of Georgia who spent over two weeks in “green” countries.

The MP says that the Ministry of Economics presses the air companies to minimize the number of flights even to the “green” countries.

“The government decided to open borders to five EU member countries under the public pressure. However, allegedly, we hear that the government, particularly the Ministry of Economic, produces pressure on the air companies to minimize the number of flights even in the mentioned five countries. It is a very harmful decision. It means that fewer people will come to Georgia. At the same time, the government continues with the compulsory quarantine requirement towards the citizens, even regarding those who spent two weeks in the countries which had opened its borders. The decision is anti-constitutional,” – said Kandelaki.
