According to Georgian Vice-Premier Davit Zalkaliani, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin's visit to Georgia is an emphasis on the strategic partnership between the two countries.
''Lloyd Austin's visit reaffirms U.S's unwavering support for Georgia and puts an emphasis on their strategic partnership,'' Zalkaliani said after the meeting between the Georgian PM and the U.S. Secretary of Defense.
Davit Zalkaliani said that at the meeting between Austin and the prime minister, the former placed emphasis on the role the Georgian PM plays in establishing long-term peace in the region of South Caucasus and underscored the significance of Georgia acting as a mediator between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
