The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a statement regarding the planned rally of the opposition.

During the ongoing rallies and gatherings, the agency calls on citizens and political leaders to abide by the Constitution of Georgia, respect the professional activities of police officers, not go beyond the law of peaceful assembly, obey police demands and maintain public order.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, any fact of violation will be immediately stopped by the police, and an appropriate legal response will follow.

"As it is known to the public, a protest rally is planned on November 8 at 20:00 in Freedom Square in Tbilisi.

Interior Ministry staff will be mobilized in the capital to maintain public order due to security measures and to avoid artificial escalation of events," reads the statement.
