Former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has been deprived of the title of Honorary Doctor of Yerevan University. Armenian Minister of Education and Culture Arayik Harutyunyan writes about it on his Facebook page.
"Saakashvili should be deprived of the title of Honorary Doctor. Today I decided to appeal to the Academic Council of Yerevan State University to deprive the former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, of the title of Honorary Doctor of the University for statements against the Armenian identity and the steps taken against the rights of our compatriots. Yerevan University Scientific Council unanimously supports deprivation of Saakashvili honorary title," the Armenian Minister of Education and Culture wrote.
The former President of Georgia wrote on his Facebook page that Nagorno-Karabakh is a sovereign territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and nothing will change that. According to him, everyone who has been expelled from this region has the right to return to their homes, and those who already live have the right to live in peace.
