The third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, responds to the epidemic situation in the country from Rustavi prison and issues another appeal.
"In the last three days, 140 people have died of covid in Georgia. With all the disasters, we have become accustomed to the fact that Georgia has one of the highest death rates in the world. This is in the conditions when businesses in Georgia have been imposed ten times stricter restrictions than in Ukraine. Almost all the time, all the cafes and shops were open in Kyiv and Odesa, and in Georgia, which depended on the tourism sector, everything was closed.
Most people die due to an additional infection in the hospital. Then why did we build 150 modern hospitals? I know for sure that if we or any other effective government ruled in Georgia today, the death toll would be three or four times lower," Mikheil Saakashvili wrote.
