Zurab Azarashvili, the Minister of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health, and Social Affairs of Georgia, visited the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.

The Minister held a meeting with the General Director of the Center, Amiran Gamkrelidze, and listened to the predictions regarding the spread of Covid's new strain, Omicron.

Zurab Azarashvili also visited the Richard Lugar Center for Public Health Research and talked to the staff about current projects and plans. The Minister of Health pledged his support and said that the role of the Centers for Disease Control in the management of the pandemic is crucial.

"The role of the Centers for Disease Control in the management of the pandemic is very important, as well as their role in the prevention and management of various diseases. We discussed future plans with the staff, where the involvement of the Ministry can be more active. I support them," said the Minister.

Along with the Minister, Tamar Gabunia, the First Deputy Minister, was also present at the Center.
