The Ministry of Culture and Sports will be separated from the Ministry of Education and Science. The candidate for the post of Prime Minister, Giorgi Gakharia, spoke about it during his Parliament speech.

As Gakharia noted, there has been much discussion about the issue in the ruling team, and the Ministry of Culture will become separated until February.

"We have discussed a lot, and the decision has been made. The Ministry of Culture and Sports, as it was before, will be separated from the Ministry of Education and Science. It depends on the necessary legislative procedures," Giorgi Gakharia said.

In November 2017, by the decision of the then Prime Minister, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the Ministry of Sports joined the Ministry of Culture. In 2018, by the decision of then Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, the Ministry of Culture and Sports joined the Ministry of Education and Science.

On December 21, Tea Tsulukiani, a former Justice Minister and incumbent lawmaker, said she would be "seriously" considering if she was offered the post of Minister of Culture. She is currently chairing the Parliamentary Committee on Culture, Sports, Education, and Science.
