Five members of the Parliament voted against the changes. They declared it in their speeches.

David Chichinadze, Bidzina Gegidze, Nato Chkheize, Emzar Kvitsiani, and Alexander Erkvania voted against the change.

MP Chkheidze said that the agreed changes are not ideal and would not bring positive change or justice to the country. Though, she considers that the changes are necessary as society expects a guarantee for stability. She refused to vote for it as it was the responsibility of the Georgian Dream to carry out the promise.

Emzar Kvitsiani came up with the initiative of the compulsory elections. Elections are not just if not compulsory. He believed that elections must be compulsory; in other cases, he refused to vote.
