A plenary session of the extraordinary session of the Parliament of Georgia will take place today. Deputies will express confidence in the new composition of the government and the government program. To gain trust, the government needs the support of 76 MPs.
The session is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
Giorgi Gakharia will have only one new minister in the Cabinet; Gocha Lortkipanidze will take over the Ministry of Justice. The heads of the other agencies got submitted unchanged to the legislature for approval.
There is a possibility of a structural change at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, where Culture may be separated from the Ministry again.
As for the government program - "Building a European state," the main part is devoted to the fight against the pandemic.
