According to the Georgian Prime Minister's Press Office, Assistant Secretary Philip Reeker has congratulated Giorgi Gakharia on his reappointment to the post of the prime minister and expressed hope that the existing partnerships between the two countries would be strengthened.
"Giorgi Gakharia has thanked Philip Reeker for allocating USD 132 million for Georgia, which is provided for by the US budget for the fiscal year 2021.
The high officials discussed all critical aspects of strategic partnerships between the two countries. They stressed that active cooperation in the fields of defense and security, enhancing cooperation to promote democratization and the rule of law, and developing stronger economic ties were necessary.
The Georgian PM thanked the United States for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and expressed readiness to deepen strategic partnerships with the US and successfully cooperate with the country's new government," the statement by the Press Office reads.
