PM Gharibashvili meets Montenegrin President

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili has met with President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović. 

At the meeting, they noted that the Montenegrin President's first visit to Georgia is a step forward in the two country's bilateral relations. 

The emphasis was placed on the issues as follows: a) the need to strengthen ties between Georgia and Montenegro; b) the significance of an active political dialogue; c) the partnerships in the defense field; d) the security of the Black sea region; e) the situation in Georgia's breakaway regions; and f) Georgia's significant contribution to international security. 

The reference was also made to the importance of stimulating trade and economic relations, as well as building stronger ties in tourism. 

Special emphasis was made on EU integration as Georgia's and Montenegro's common objective. 

The face-to-face meeting was followed by the expanded meeting, at which were present: the members of the Montenegro delegation _ Milan Roćen, the Special Adviser, Tamara Brajovic, the Foreign Policy Adviser, and the Montenegrin ambassador to Georgia_ and Georgian Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani, Georgian ambassador to Montenegro Zaal Gogsadze, and Head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia Ilia Darchiashvili.
