PM Gharibashvili says issue of David Gareja will soon be resolved

''Today, we, among other matters, discussed the issue of Davit Gareja and agreed to keep the dialogue going. The process will be accelerated, and the problem soon resolved; our brotherhood and friendship will ensure this,'' Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili told journalists.

Mr. Gharibashvili said at the meeting with Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev, they discussed the current situation in the region, including security issues.

Irakli Gharibashvili defined the meeting as immensely prolific and said both Georgia and Azerbaijan are motivated to carry out many more joint projects and further develop their cooperation.

Irakli Gharibashvili said that he met the speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan and the prime minister and discussed different economic issues with them.

''We focused on economic issues and how to activate our cooperation in terms of investments, especially after the pandemic, which has crippled both countries' economies and those worldwide. We also focused on tourism: in 2019, a million and a half Azerbaijanis visited Georgia, and it was a record number. Today's visit has had an immensely pleasant end. I thank President Aliyev and the government members for this cordial meeting,'' PM Gharibashvili said, adding that he invited Mr. Aliyev to Tbilisi.
