“It is a victory that as the representative of emigration I am standing in front of you, as your President and you are the descendants of those cadets fighting in Tabakhmela and Kojori,” Salome Zurabishvili, the President of Georgia made the statement. The President laid a wreath at the Memorial of cadets killed in the February 1921 battle for Georgia's independence.
"The spirit of independence spread through the Georgian emigration, where General Kvinitadze fought for the independence of the country. February 25 is not a day of defeat since then came victory - the year 1991, when Georgia's independence restored," the President of Georgia noted.
The President of Georgia opened a military exhibition space at the National Defense Academy of Georgia named after Davit Agmashenebeli, where the Georgian military weapons and equipment are presented.
The President handed over memoirs published by General Kvinitadze in Paris to the Georgian National Defense Academy in Gori and a piece of art by Kvinitadze's daughter, depicting St. George.
