"We need our approach and plan when it comes to overcoming the occupation," Salome Zurabishvili stated during her speech at the event dedicated to May 26. According to the President, there is a complete consensus in this direction in the country.
"We all unite around this goal, regardless of party or other affiliation. However, when it comes to overcoming the occupation, we lack the proper tools to achieve specific goals, such as implementing the 2008 ceasefire agreement, increasing the area of the EUMM first and then deploy it as agreed, suspend and abolishment of borderization, protecting the rights of our citizens, returning the kidnapped Zaza Gakheladze home and strengthening relations between people, without which the return of the territories means nothing. We need to be ready for new approaches, new formats, dialogue, and negotiation. In all these areas, the involvement of our partners is necessary," the President revealed.
