"Peaceful negotiations and active diplomacy have no alternative, because, for the region at large, all kinds of tensions are a huge problem, both in terms of security and economic development," Giorgi Gakharia, the Prime Minister of Georgia said at a government meeting on developments in the Middle East.
According to the Head of the Government, Georgia has been in contact with international partners since the very first day and has been closely watching developments.
"All relevant agencies of the Government of Georgia, are in close contact with their partners and work together to analyze the threats to our country," Gakharia said.
According to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructions to provide full support to each Georgian citizen who may be in the tension zone, through representations, consulates, and embassies, to avoid possible complications.
