Prime Minister says we must be ready for in-country transmission

Prime-Minister Gakharia has elaborated upon the challenges the country will be faced with soon.

"When we are faced with the virus transmission case when the infected does not know who infected them, chances of determining individuals transmitting the virus will be lower, and the number of infected citizens will automatically grow," Gakharia stressed.

In his words, the government has so far aimed to put an end to COVID-19 spread.

"We set up the Inter-Agency Council as early as Jan.28 when the country had no infected citizens. On Feb 26, after a citizen returned from Iran, the virus started to spread, with different clusters, whether it be Italian, Spanish, etc. emerging later. If so far, we have combated only imported cases, we have now to fight against in-country transmission, with the healthcare system facing different challenges." Gakharia said, adding that the reality should not be embellished, and the measures taken by the government from now on must be stricter.
