A project to legalize 5,000 flats on the agency's balance sheet to improve military personnel's social conditions and their families started. The Deputy Minister of Defense of Georgia, Juansher Burchuladze, stated about it at the briefing held at the Ministry of Defense.
According to the Ministry, to effectively and fairly conduct the process of transferring apartments, a special commission has been set up by the Minister's request, which includes the relevant representatives of the Ministry and the Defense Forces.
"The commission will review the applications and relevant documents on an individual basis and submit relevant recommendations to the Minister. The Georgian government passed a resolution on July 17 to legalize the actual owners of about 5,000 apartments on the Ministry's balance sheet. Legalizing apartments will solve the problem for thousands of families for years, which will dramatically improve their social status. In fact, up to 5,000 apartments on the balance sheet of the Ministry of Defense will be legalized by ex-servicemen, IDPs, socially vulnerable people and other citizens of Georgia," the Ministry of Defense said.
